What we are loving at the moment..

Watching: All things on Bravo, especially “It’s a Brad, Brad World” and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Call it trash TV, call it a guilty pleasure..we can’t get enough!

Wearing: We (still) can’t get enough of Stripes.  Loving these easy spring pieces from Vince, Elizabeth and James, and French Connection.  Come check them out in store or online.

Listening: Dreamy southern California rock is perfect for cruising around on a sunny day. Check out our favorite tracks, “Happy” and “Weapons.” Rock on!

We saw all sorts of different trends on the red carpet during last night’s Golden Globes, but definitely noticed a few common themes:  Nude dresses, two-tone, black and mermaid style. Here are our favorite renditions of each trend.

Two tone: Angelina Jolie in an impeccably tailored Versace Atelier, Emma Stone in Lanvin, and Natalie Portman in Lanvin.

Nude: Kristen Wiig in Bill Blass, Nicole Kidman in a backless Calvin Klein sheath, and Elle Macpherson in Zac Posen

Black: Rooney Mara, one of my personal favorites of the night, in Nina Ricci, Julianne Moore in Chanel

Mermaid Style: Sofia Vergara in custom Vera Wang, Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen

Spring Preview

We are loving the fresh line-up of spring 12 duds from the TEXTILE Elizabeth and James look book. They’ve mastered the perfectly worn in jean, but with updated details and fits. Casual cool at its best.  We are also seeing printed and colored denim again for spring and TEXTILE has some fun additions to this trend for spring. Which look do you like? Laid-back cool or bright and funky?

On most days, ok every day,  you would be hard pressed to get me to wear any sort of color. Unless you consider white, black, grey and taupe colors. Do blue jeans count? Anyway, I think something has taken gotten into me, because for spring I cannot stop obsessing over orange. Tangerine, tango, persimmon…you name it, I want to wear it. It can’t hurt that Pantone named it one of spring 2012′s “it-colors.” I think it is a fresh addition to your wardrobe and will be easy to incorporate with all your neutral pieces (thank goodness).

I love an orange tailored pant paired with an oxford or heel and a grey or cream slouchy tee.  Do you own a great leopard tee, belt, or shoe? Leopard and orange pair together flawlessly!

If a bright orange pant is just too much for you, why not add an orange dress to your wardrobe? Paired with a black blazer the punchy color will stand out against a sea of black and grey office wear. Later, wear with nude or metallic sandals to spring and summer weddings.

Non-committal? Grab an accessory in this season’s favorite hue. I love the oversized aviators by Karen Walker and DVF’s “Harper” bag  with silver chain detail. These accessories will pair effortlessly with the neutrals in your wardrobe and enhance any outfit.

Leopard is a print that will never go out of style, but it is definitely having a major moment right now. We all have a leopard shoe, belt, or top, why not step it up and embrace the leopard pant? We are loving these styles from A.L.C., Camilla & Marc, and Current/Elliott.

The Elson Pant by A.L.C. is a tapered trouser that we would style with a simple tee, blazer, and pump. The cropped Kingship trouser by Australian label Camilla & Marc is a more structured style that will be perfect worn now and in to spring. Pair now with and oversized sweater and ankle boots and in warmer months with a drapey tank and wedges or sandals. They also have a hint of navy in the print which is a fun addition.

The leopard Stiletto skinny by Current/Elliott is already a cult favorite of editors, bloggers, and fashion mavens everywhere. The styling options for this pair are endless (and seasonless!). We’re wearing them now with sweaters and jackets and flat boots. In the spring and summer, cuff the hem and throw on with a pair of flats and t-shirt.

We are in love with these stacked ultra glam wedges by Dolce Vita. These fabulously bold “Camryn” wedges have leather detailing along back of heel and a wrapped ankle strap.
