We saw all sorts of different trends on the red carpet during last night’s Golden Globes, but definitely noticed a few common themes: Nude dresses, two-tone, black and mermaid style. Here are our favorite renditions of each trend.

Two tone: Angelina Jolie in an impeccably tailored Versace Atelier, Emma Stone in Lanvin, and Natalie Portman in Lanvin.

Nude: Kristen Wiig in Bill Blass, Nicole Kidman in a backless Calvin Klein sheath, and Elle Macpherson in Zac Posen

Black: Rooney Mara, one of my personal favorites of the night, in Nina Ricci, Julianne Moore in Chanel

Mermaid Style: Sofia Vergara in custom Vera Wang, Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen

What trends are your favorites? Who was best dressed?

Lola + Luxe : STRUT FOR A MUTT >> benefitting Spay Arkansas and the Fayetteville Animal Shelter

On most days, ok every day, you would be hard pressed to get me to wear any sort of color. Unless you consider white, black, grey and taupe colors. Do blue jeans count? Anyway, I think something has taken gotten into me, because for spring I cannot stop obsessing over orange. Tangerine, tango, persimmon…you name it, I want to wear it. It can’t hurt that Pantone named it one of spring 2012′s “it-colors.” I think it is a fresh addition to your wardrobe and will be easy to incorporate with all your neutral pieces (thank goodness).

I love an orange tailored pant paired with an oxford or heel and a grey or cream slouchy tee. Do you own a great leopard tee, belt, or shoe? Leopard and orange pair together flawlessly!

If a bright orange pant is just too much for you, why not add an orange dress to your wardrobe? Paired with a black blazer the punchy color will stand out against a sea of black and grey office wear. Later, wear with nude or metallic sandals to spring and summer weddings.

Non-committal? Grab an accessory in this season’s favorite hue. I love the oversized aviators by Karen Walker and DVF’s “Harper” bag with silver chain detail. These accessories will pair effortlessly with the neutrals in your wardrobe and enhance any outfit.

With NWA Fashion Week in March, you’ll be for sure be seeing this trend incorporated in our collection for Strut for a Mutt. We’re gearing up to bring you a fresh runway show and can’t wait to show you our new lineup of adoptable dogs. See you this spring!

Leopard is a print that will never go out of style, but it is definitely having a major moment right now. We all have a leopard shoe, belt, or top, why not step it up and embrace the leopard pant? We are loving these styles from A.L.C., Camilla & Marc, and Current/Elliott.

The Elson Pant by A.L.C. is a tapered trouser that we would style with a simple tee, blazer, and pump. The cropped Kingship trouser by Australian label Camilla & Marc is a more structured style that will be perfect worn now and in to spring. Pair now with and oversized sweater and ankle boots and in warmer months with a drapey tank and wedges or sandals. They also have a hint of navy in the print which is a fun addition.

The leopard Stiletto skinny by Current/Elliott is already a cult favorite of editors, bloggers, and fashion mavens everywhere. The styling options for this pair are endless (and seasonless!). We’re wearing them now with sweaters and jackets and flat boots. In the spring and summer, cuff the hem and throw on with a pair of flats and t-shirt.

Shop these options online or in our downtown Fayetteville boutique.

Some of our fall and winter favorites this month..

1. Denim button-up from Vince can be worn one of two ways, traditionally or crossed over. We love this paired with a skinny leather legging, maxi skirt, or corduroy pant. $245

2. The Heidi Bootie by Dolce Vita combines the best of both worlds, a bootie and a wedge. We love the sleek suede back and leather front. Taupe color will pair well with everything in your wardrobe. $199

3. Maxi skirt by Vince is a flattering fishtail shape and made of a luxe satin. Wear this for your cocktail holiday parties or with a sweater or button up and boots for everyday wear. Great addition to your closet. $445

4. Update your sweater collection with this fun chunky knit from French Connection. Ribbing along hem and sleeves and knit baubles sewn onto shoulder. $158

5. The classic white button-up gets an update by Equipment with this oversized version. We love this paired under sweaters with the shirt tail peaking out, a la Clueless. Tuck this into a pencil skirt or high waisted pant for a more classic look. $228

6. Now that you all have a pair of colored denim in your closet, why not add a pair of velvet skinnies? These wine colored velvet pants by J. Brand are the perfect choice. Tuck in to boots and wear with a cable knit for a cozy mix of textures. $188
