Strut for a Mutt 2009
Project lovely is happy to announce the success of Strut 2009! Not only did we have a blast checking out the latest in fashion and beauty and shaking it to the beats of Sam Ronson, all 9 dogs were adopted and $10,000 was raised for the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and Spay Arkansas. Wow! Savor Restaurant was the perfect place for the event.

We had local models who did a fab job strutting for mutts! The fashion show showed off lola's fall looks. The clothes were accessorized by our favorite local jewelry haunt, Mae's Emporium. Mae's features one-of-a-kind gems that you are sure to love. The beauty look was Juliette from luxe beauty's vision. We love a strong dark eye for fall and fun bright lips. Thanks to the luxe and Dillard's make-up teams for beautifying everyone. Dead Swanky and Studio 8 are to thank for creating our favorite fall hair styles: the fishtail and the "zoe" inspired by stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe. Totally Bananas!

The after party with Samantha Ronson was equally as cool. Sam dj'ed well into the night playing tunes that kept everyone dancing all night and was the perfect addition to Strut. Over 650 people were in attendance so there was no shortage of dance partners.

Thanks again to all volunteers and everyone who attended for making Strut for a Mutt a success. You made a mutt's day!

Run this town tonight.

The plaid button-up may not be new to the fashion world, but it is definitely a lingering trend. We especially love this comfy oversized version by Vince. It is a great navy, grey and white combo that is perfect with any outfit. Rihanna loves it too! She pairs hers with Current/Elliott cut-offs (lola has these too!), brown ankle booties, and oversize shades to guard her from the paps.

This is a great transition piece that can be worn with shorts now or into the fall and winter over jeans and boots or under a jacket. It's a reasonably priced piece that can be worn so many ways and is already as soft as your Dad's flannels. What're you waiting for?

Vince Plaid Button-up, $195, and Current/Elliott cut-offs available at lola boutique in downtown Fayetteville as well as online at lolaboutique.com

Item of the Day

Current/Elliott has created the perfect deconstructed denim that will easily transition you from summer to fall. We're here to tell you the skinny jean is here to stay and these are a great eclectic addition to you wardrobe. They will be perfect with a leather jacket and motorcycle boots for all you rocker chicks but we also love these with a cozy vince sweater or tee-shirt and chuck taylors.

As if you needed another reason to obsess over everything current/elliott, these jeans are a must-have to spice up your fall wardrobe.

Love Denim

Hudson and Current/Elliott pretty much have the denim short game on lock-down. They make something for all sizes and all cravings. What's not to love? The daring girl will love Hudson's Raw Hem Short in cool grey (1), Current/Elliott's cut-offs (2), or light jean short with front pockets (3). These short shorts are fun and perfect for the pool or with a cute tee and heels out at night.

For a more relaxed look and feel, try current/elliott's suspender short (4). Hudson also makes a cuffed and distressed boyfriend short (5). These relaxed fits are casual and cool this summer and right on trend. We love these shorts with a girly tank and cute sandals for running around. These have been selling like crazy and are already a summer hit.

Adding to the denim craze, Hudson also makes a bermuda short (6) that is conservative and cute. Cuffed at the bottom and right above the knee, these are your everyday short.

Shop these and other fabulous denim picks online at http://lolaboutique.com or in our downtown Fayetteville shop.

What Would She Wear?
Rachel Bilson is the perfect inspiration for our first installment of What Would She Wear? Bilson,27,is a red-carpet favorite but also has the perfect pared down street-style. Bilson knows how to dress for her petite frame in sleek, but not tight basics. She is one of our go-to girls who does no wrong and never overdoes it by sticking to basic pieces and mixing in her own version of trends.

We found some particularly Bilson-esque items which we are proud to present in our first installment of What Would She Wear?

1. TAKEN Layered Chain Necklace with Feather Drop - Taken has become one of our quick favorites at lola representing everything we love. Chains, Feathers, Layers. We know Bilson would concur. This layered chain necklace is perfect with a basic white tank. This necklace also features a fabulous and unexpected feather drop that is sure to spice things up.

2.Hudson Basic Cuffed Short - This will be the go-to short of the summer. Not too short, and not too long, Bilson shows an affinity for this style in the above picture so we know she is sure to love.

3.12th St Denim Onesy - What's not to love about this one piece from 12th St by Cynthia Vincent. It's fun, cute, flirty, and most important, flattering. This piece is lightweight and the perfect solution to the what to throw on on a hot summer night.

4. Scout Colorblock Zipper Dress - This dress combines a modal top and a washed silk mini-skirt to make a cute and easy dress that Bilson would love. This Scout dress can be dressed up or down to create an easy outfit for day or night.

6. Dolce Vita Moracco Sandal - This Grecian fringe sandal is perfect paired with skinnys, shorts, or dresses. These are a perfect way to incorporate a fun trend into your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
